Salaams,
firstly i would like to thank the organisers for a wonderful event.. Alhumdulillah looking at the weather, one couldn't ask for a better day.
secondly.. i didn't get to raise much money this year however this didn't stop me from taking part in such a friendly event. I hope next year we have twice as many people - inshallah.
finally, i want to thank the little brother (power like an ox) who rode all the way to checkpoint 3 - well done.
P.s thank you to the sister who gave me a Mars bar , i'll repay you next year - inshallah (",)

Truthfully i didnt know anything about it until Zahid bhai (Mr. Checkpoint 3) told me, and thank god he did, because i enjoyed it so much!!! It was an amazing experience and the cause made it even more worthwhile!! Now i jus cant wait until Cycle Relief 2009!!!

Comments: Well what can I say about Cycle Relief 2008. Surely the route was the same however the adventure seems to change every year. This year I participated with my fellow groupies Nadeem mama, Maariyah, Adil, Shabi and Adnan AKA "The Spartans"! We were one of the few to start early acting as tho we`d be the 1st group to make it back all the way from checkpoint 3. Of course that didnt happen! It took us around 6 hrs to get back to the finish line and yes we were the last ones. However we got to enjoy the lovely scenery and had many pit-stops in order to re-fuel ourselves with kebabs(i wish). Although of course I had to stop frequently in order to keep my make-up in immaculate condition just incase any of the Cycle Relief team took my picture. You just never know where they could be lerking around with a camera! Although we were the last to return we made it back in one piece and completed the 26 mile route. It truely was a team effort! Totally was a great day out and the cause (water for life) just made it that more fulfilling.

Comments: I must be mad....i've ridden a bike abt 5 times in my entire life......i was one of those unfortunate children that had to make do with a trike...and there was no way i was gonna take part with stabilisers on my bike!!! To cut a long(and boring) story short.....the event was great.....thanks to my adopted institution(The SAHELI Group) for putting me up to it...esp Rakhs!! And thanks to Islamis Relief for putting together the event and helping out the most needy people in the world. Insha allah next year i'll go one step further and reach checkpoint 3...without falling off, and without the stabilisers!!!!!!!!!
