About Cycle Relief
What is Cycle Relief?
Cycle Relief has been set-up by a group of volunteers, to organise sponsored cycle runs in an effort to raise money for a variety of humanitarian causes.
The aim of Cycle Relief
To raise awareness..
Many of us all too often forget the day-to-day suffering of millions around the world in countries affected by poverty. Our aim is to raise awareness of simple daily essentials in life, which for many are just not available. We can make a difference.
To promote good health and healthy living..
Cycle Relief aims to build on the many national and regional initiatives to promote good health and healthy living. We are constantly reminded that obesity is a growing concern in the U.K due to poor diet and lack of excercise. We are emphasising the importance of cycling as a form of excercise, which is fun and can be done independantly or in a group.
To help community relations..
Cycle Relief aims to help improve local community relations. People from all ethnic backgrounds are invited to take part in the event. No matter how far they want to cycle, no matter how small their donation.
To have fun..
Providing fun and entertainment is also important to us. Families, friends, neighbours, workforces and individuals are all encouraged to take part. Cycle Relief events will be challenging for those that like a challenge, But there will also be an opportunity to have an enjoyable day out, while raising money.
How will the money be used?
Each year we help promote different humanitarian causes and raise money for water related projects to help the desperate and needy people around the world, impacted by the cause selected, through Islamic Relief, a UK based international charity.
How are we funded?
Cycle Relief is organised entirely by volunteers and we rely on public support to raise funds for various humanitarian causes. Cycle Relief depends on corporate and private donations to fund the events themselves.
